        The Veerattaneswarar Temple is one of the most ancient famous historical temples in India. It's period of construction might have been more than 1400 years ago and had been a wonderful model to the Emperor Raja Raja Chola to construct the world famous Tanjore Periya Kovil. Thiruvadhigai Veerattaneswarar Temple, located in Thiruvathigai only 2 km from PANRUTI. It is more than 1400 years ancient Shiva temple where the saints  Thirunavukkarasar, Thilakavathiyar, and Arunagirinathar visited   and wrote hymns.

It is an ancient temple located at bank of river Kedilam.
